his plan

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Saved by the Bell.”

………………………………………………………………………………………………….

a cold rainy night

he was too close for comfort

the heart beating crazily

no right conferred

the mind racing amok

beads of sweat on my forehead

impending doom in the air

nothing was heard or said

then out of the shadows

an old man appeared

a walking stick in hand

to protect me , he dared

and as he was about to hit

the beastly man ran

god descended that day

it surely was his plan
