My Mother’s Food.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Food for the Soul (and the Stomach).”

the great smell wafting from the kitchen

stirring up memories old and new

the aroma filling up my senses

i dont know what all she brew

……………………………………………………..

the magic in her hands

manifested in the food she made

oh the scent, the fragrance of each meal

and the beauty by which it was laid

………………………………………………………..

she gave me food for the stomach

and sure she fed my soul too

my mother cooked with all her heart

those times were too good to be true
