The following is my submission to SOCS…

The scent of his perfume lingered

I was so lost in his embrace

It was not worth a cent I knew

But it sure left a trace

When he was long gone

I could sense him near me

I sent him a letter

But together we were not to be

He remained in a corner of my heart

But I had to move on

His scent haunted me

I was always lovelorn.
