Feminism or Sexism.

In response to a CALL FROM THE DAILY POST:

I generally don’t indulge in social politics much but the talk about feminism by one of my favorite bloggers set me thinking. Women are criticized for being too feminist to the point of being unreasonable. What I have to say is my point of view totally. The battle of the sexes is known since times immemorial. But one cannot stay without the other.

So what it is for you... Feminism or Sexism.

For me it is Humanism.

FEMINISM is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women.

SEXISM OR GENDER DISCRIMINATION is prejudice or discrimination based on a person’s sex or gender. Sexist attitudes may stem from traditional stereotypes of gender roles.
Sexism is the reason why there are rapes and other crimes against women.

Now are the two same or different. Many writers confuse the two as do social activists. Fighting for equality of women is feminism they say. They also say that when women want to be equal to men in all aspects it is feminism. But sexism on the other hand is the reason why feminism raised its head. I absolutely believe in the Equality of the sexes. There is no doubt that women because of the physiological variations are physically weaker , because they have less muscle power. But their brains are wired differently than men and they are stronger in that aspect.

Increased activity across both hemispheres of the brain may result in the strong language skills typically displayed by females.
As a whole, girls outperform boys in the use of language and fine motor skills until puberty.. Boys also fall prey to learning disabilities more frequently than girls. “Clinics see a preponderance of boys with dyslexia,” So do we now say that men are weaker than women?
Boys generally demonstrate superiority over female peers in areas of the brain involved in math and geometry. These areas of the brain mature about four years earlier in boys than in girls, according to a recent study that measured brain development in more than 500 children. Researchers concluded that when it comes to math, the brain of a 12-year-old girl resembles that of an 8-year-old boy.

Conversely, the same researchers found that areas of the brain involved in language and fine motor skills (such as handwriting) mature about six years earlier in girls than in boys.
So you cannot compare the two sexes. One scores where the other falters. The question of feminism arises because men are sexist. There was no need of bra burning feminists if sexism did not raise its ugly head.

So whoever excels in a particular field should take on that particular responsibility. There is no question of feminism or sexism if we are sensible in assigning tasks to people according to their capabilities. But it is important that all be equally rewarded for the work they do, irrespective of the gender.

Think about it.

LETS LIVE HAPPILY

(IF THERE IS NO SEXISM)
